Beavers

Beavers (boys and girls ages 5-7)

Sharing the Adventure

Fun and friendship are the cornerstones of the Beaver program. Through an adventurous program of outdoor activities, creative play, music, and cooperative games, Beavers enjoy time with their friends (and meet new ones), learn how to get along within a group, and develop the confidence to be themselves. Beavers share many outdoor adventures with their friends in the colony.

Nature walks, short hikes, tree plantings and family sleepovers give Beavers a taste of outdoor fun. Through these activities, Beavers develop an appreciation and a sense of caring for the environment. Beavers are a vital part of the community, country and world in which they live.  Visits to parks, power plants, fire and police stations thrill young Beavers and illustrate the many important facets of their community.

Announcements

Thanks to everyone who came out to help us clean up Porteau Cove on Oct 2nd.  We also invested nine new Beavers into our Colony.  Welcome to all of our new Beavers and their families!  Presently our Colony has fifteen members, but we would like to have more.  However, we need more adult leaders before we can invite more youth to Beavers, so if you have any interest in being a leader, please contact Sally at sally@cheal.ca. Not only will you have fun, but you will also make it possible for more youth to join.

Our first camp is coming up quickly this month.  We will be heading to Evans Lake for our Fall Camp, on October 22nd.  The fee is $35 per person, and all Beavers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Please look for an email with details and a camp list coming soon.  Evans Lake is a wonderful place for young Beavers to have their first camp and they will really enjoy it.

We will have our next meeting on Tuesday, Oct 11th at Mamquam school...see you all there! - Bubbles
